Releasing the atlas and occiput on a horse

Releasing the atlas and occiput, along with the surrounding fascia, muscles and ligaments with Equine CST. This procedure focuses on the first cervical vertebra (the atlas) and the base of the skull (the occiput), which together play a crucial role in supporting the head. By carefully allowing the horse to self correct, I help to alleviate tension, improve alignment, and enhance overall mobility. This release can lead to significant relief from headaches, neck pain, and contribute to better head position and nervous system function.

Your horses face

Is your horses face symmetric ?

There can be many reasons why your horse has asymmetry in their cranium. Your horse may have suffered a fall or pulled back when tied up. Which then has misaligned the cranium bones. Or the nuchal ligament is pulling unevenly on the nuchal crest so the occipital bone has become twisted. This will then have an affect on the other cranium bones.

Having asymmetry in the face can cause restrictions and strain patterns thought out the whole body, which could cause behavioural problems as we well as issues when ridden.

When treating your horse I will begin by checking your horses face to see if there are any asymmetries present. This will then give me an idea where there could be other restrictions in your horses body. This lovely mare has regular CST treatments, the asymmetries are starting to correct themselves and her movement has improved greatly

The Client know !

A cornerstone of Upledger CranioSacral Therapy (UCST) is the belief that knowing how best to help someone resides within the client instead of within the therapist. Rather than using predetermined agendas, the therapist uses techniques designed to support the client in utilising their natural processes and inherent knowing to achieve an improved state of well-being. Neutrality is essential in this client-directed, process oriented approach. It allows for the moment-to-moment discovery and use of pathways of change that are unique to the individual client.
